Trees are perceived as assets or liabilities: Well planted and maintained, trees may increase property values, decrease energy bills and improve our health and wellbeing.
Where trees are improperly managed or their relationship with developments and buildings is not considered at an early stage, ongoing maintenance or remediation may cost a significant amount. Injury or damage caused by defective trees may also cost money due to compensation or legal costs.
With over 20 years of arboricultural consultancy experience, numerous qualifications (including the highly regarded RFS Professional Diploma) Tommy can recognize how to minimise the risks and therefore the liabilities presented by trees, and maximise the opportunities and asset-value of trees.
By investing in the best care strategy for existing trees and planning ahead with new planting schemes, potential conflicts between trees and their domesticated environment can be foreseen and appropriately mitigated in good time.
Even if your consultancy requirements are not included here we can almost certainly help. Please contact us to discuss how we can help.

For peace of mind or to discharge your duty of care as a tree owner, we can assess your trees and provide a written report including our findings and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of your trees.
Whether it is a single tree in a back garden, a road-side avenue, or a country estate, Tommy Plummer Tree Services takes on projects of all sizes.
One of the methodologies we use is Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) for which Tommy is a trained and licensed user. While many tree surveys will assess risk in a qualitative sense, QTRA is a robust procedure for quantifying the risks posed by trees. By quantifying risk, the resulting information allows a targeted approach to budgeting any risk management requirements.

Where trees are present on a development site and before planning permission is given, the local authority may request additional information to support the application such as a Tree Constraints Plan and Tree Protection Plan compliant with British Standard: BS5837 - Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction.
We can provide everything you need to get your project to completion, from pre-planning advice to provision of information requested by the authority to on-site compliance monitoring.
Whether your building project is a larger housing development, a smaller in-fill development, the addition of a garage or garden office, or anything else, Tommy Plummer Tree Services takes on projects of all sizes.
When buying a new property with nearby trees a mortgage company may require further information regarding the risks from direct damage or indirect damage (subsidence and heave) that the tree(s) may pose to the property.
We can provide a predictive report assessing these risks, and satisfy the requirements of your mortgage or insurance company.
